Gathered and Tracked Information
We gather two types of information about users:
- Information that users voluntarily provide when they subscribe to Financial Planning Toolkit and
- Information gathered through aggregated tracking is derived mainly by tallying page views throughout this website. This information allows us to better tailor our content to users' needs and to help us and our advertisers and sponsors better understand the demographics of our audience. As discussed below, we share certain aggregated data with our advertisers, sponsors, and partners.
While content, tool, and calculator descriptions on the Financial Planning Toolkit® website can be reviewed for free, users must subscribe to the Financial Planning Toolkit to access and utilize most online services and materials. Users may obtain an annual subscription to Financial Planning Toolkit by: (1) purchasing a subscription directly on the Financial Planning Toolkit Web site or (2) becoming a Premium Member of Financial Planning Toolkit's sister-site, Business Owner's Toolkit®, and selecting Financial Planning Toolkit as one of the three membership benefits.
When you subscribe to Financial Planning Toolkit or become a Premium Member of Business Owner's Toolkit, you will be asked to provide personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, phone, e-mail address, and credit card number as well as to select a password for accessing Financial Planning Toolkit.
This site may occasionally conduct user surveys to better target our content to our audience. We may share the aggregated demographic information collected in these surveys with our sponsors and advertisers. We never share any individual user survey information with third parties.
Protection of Personally Identifiable Information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personally identifiable information as you transmit your information from your computer to our website and to protect such information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. You should keep in mind that no Internet transmission is ever 100% secure or error-free. In particular, e-mail sent to or from this site may not be secure, and you should therefore take special care in deciding what information you send to us via e-mail. Moreover, it is your responsibility to safeguard your passwords, ID numbers, or other special features used to access this website.
Toolkit Media Group automatically tracks user traffic patterns throughout the entire site; however, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. We break down overall usage statistics according to a user's domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user's browser).
Toolkit Media Group occasionally tracks and catalogs the search terms that users enter in our Search function to determine which areas of our sites users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. We never track searches of individual users or what individual users read. Instead, we track how well each page performs overall, which helps us continue to improve services for you.
We also compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors to our site, the daily requests we receive for particular files or services, whether visitors access the site from paid advertisements, and from which countries those requests originate.
Use of Information
This website uses information voluntarily given by our users to enhance their experience, whether to provide interactive or personalized elements on the site or to better preparing future content based on the interests of our users.
As described above, we use information that users voluntarily provide in order to send out our electronic newsletter and to enable users to participate in polls, surveys, message boards and forums. We send out newsletters to subscribers monthly, and may send out special editions when we think subscribers might be particularly interested in something we are doing or that has happened.
As described above, we use tracking information to determine which areas of our site users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. We track how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you. We do not track not what individual users read. In addition, we track search terms entered in our search function as one of many measures of what interests our users, but this tracking is never associated with individual users and we don't track which search terms a particular user enters.
We create aggregate reports on user demographics and traffic patterns. These aggregated statistics are used internally to better provide services to our users and may also be provided to advertisers, sponsors, and partners but again, they contain no individual personal or business information and cannot be used to gather such information. This allows our advertisers, partners, and sponsors to advertise more effectively, and allows our users to receive advertisements that are pertinent to their needs. Because we don't track the usage patterns of individual users, an advertiser, partner, or sponsor will never know that a specific user clicked their ad. We will not disclose any information about any individual user except to comply with applicable law, valid legal process, court order, government regulation, or to protect the personal safety of our users or the public.
California Privacy Rights

Upon request, we will provide subscribers with access to their own records. Subscribers can access and correct their personal or business information by emailing us at email@example.com.
